Introduction of new members by Brenda Bannister
Introduction of Speaker, Jill Rains, who gave an excellent program on “Don’t Let Batting make you Batty”. She shared interesting and very useful tip on different types of batting and their uses.
BOM #7 was presented – Denise’s Walk in the Park
Show & Tell – Members showed their oldest and their newest quilt projects.
Monthly raffle drawing, birthday baskets and door prize drawing were held.
Update on Annual fundraiser given.
Cathy Poyner gave an update on the Annual Retreat as follows:
Dates Nov 3-6 at the FFA Camp in Covington, GA. Cost will be $195 per person in a double room or $295 in a single room. Members must pay minimum of $100 down to reserve their spot. After June meeting, any available slots will be open to non-members.
Community Service Project. Sewing to Serve Day will be on May 7th at Cornerstone Baptist Legacy Hall from 10-3 pm where we will sew 5” squares into disappearing 9 patch quilts for the Harris County Deputy cars.
A FREE Table was set up in the rear of room and enjoyed by all. Members are encouraged to continue to go thru their stash and bring items to donate/swap with fellow members.
The membership voted on finalists for the Slogan contest. Winners will be chosen at the April meeting.
Next WIP item number was drawn and it was Item #1. Must be completed by May meeting.
