Minutes of the SEWrority Sisters Quilting Guild – April 26, 2025
Gail McLain, President called the meeting to order at 10:30 A.M.
• No meeting Memorial Day weekend enjoy your time with family and friends.
• Meeting dates changed to the first Saturday of each month.
• Excited to announce new venue starting June7th at
Philomena Family Center of Focus

Welcome Committee Lu Enloe welcomed visitors Marcia J. Klothilde L., Casey D.
Gail McLain presented door prize winner.
Melissa House, Member of BOM Committee- Reported that 24 quilt blocks were turned in for March. Please be sure to put your name and date on the back of your donated quilt
blocks.
Debbie Sutton, Chairwoman of Fundraising Committee- Announced the blue and white quilt and the BOM raXle quilt are completed. Please bring birthday baskets no later than
9:45 A.M this will allow members to make bids on your birthday basket.
Sandy Burnett, Chairwoman of WIP – Announced that 20 participants in the WIP this year. WIP #3 is due.
Anita Roger, Chairwoman of Community Outreach Committee- announced we have 19 quilts ready to be donated and 34 kits ready to be made into quilts.
• 28 quilts donated Harris County
• 14 quilts donated to Oakview nursing home
Robyn Shreve, Chairwoman of Quilt of Valor Committee – announced that we had one QOV presentation in April. We have four QOV presentations in June 2025. The guild has 14
quilts ready to be presented to a qualified veteran.
Cathy Poyner, Chairwoman of Retreat Committee- Fall retreat in Fort Valley is less expensive at $241 for double occupancy. Registration will open after May retreat.
Jill Rains, Chairwoman of Programs Committee- Introduced speaker kari Goodwin- topic quilting with an improv style.
Show and Tell- quilts were presented to the guild and enjoyed by all members.
Debbie Sutton, Chairwoman of Fundraising, drew monthly raXle winner and birthday basket drawings.
