BOM: Becky Land 706-326-5260
This committee selects and distributes BOM patterns at the monthly meetings, gathers completed blocks and keeps track of member participation. They work closely with the Fundraising Committee to create the Quilts for the Guild’s Annual Quilt Raffle, and the Community Service Committee to create the Raffle Quilt for the Annual Quilt Show. This committee ensures that copies of all the BOM patterns are loaded onto the SSQG website.

Community Outreach: Anita Rodger
This committee organizes service projects and sew days to be completed throughout the Guild year. They decide which organizations will be presented with quilts and how many quilts will be presented. They work closely with the Vice President to receive recognition of our Guild’s contribution to our local community.thru social media and other publications.

Fundraising: Karen Moore
This committee manages our monthly drawings and birthday basket drawings. They work closely with the BOM committee and the Treasurer to make the Annual Quilt Raffle a success by assisting with the creation of the quilts, distributing tickets, and promoting sales.

Hospitality: Michelle Malecki
This committee oversees refreshments sign-ups for each special event including the September Anniversary Party and the December Party meetings. They help with decorations and whatever refreshments that are supplied by the Guild. At mini-retreats, they coordinate the set up of drink stations for meals and the clean up of dining facilities that are used.

Membership: Sherri Frickel
This committee has a sign-in table at every meeting and distributes copies of the meeting agenda and other pertinent information to each member as they check in. They also ensure that the Guild’s online directory is easily accessible by members and has hard copies available for members that need them. They present new members with name badges and introduce them to the guild for a pinning ceremony by the President. They add new members to all forms of communication including email and Facebook group and Online directory and provide new members with a name badge. They are responsible for collecting the annual dues from all members at the beginning of each year.

Program: Jill Rains
This committee assists the President in securing teachers, speakers and programs/workshops at each meeting throughout the year. They are always open for suggestions and recommendations.

Quilt of Valor: Robyn Shreve
This committee contacts recipients and plans presentations of Quilts of Valor. They schedule and organize QOV Sew Days throughout the year and communicate with the National QOVF. They schedule and coordinate with the Hospitality Committee any QOV presentations held during an SSQG Meeting that requires a reception following the ceremony.

Retreats: Co-Chairmen: Cathy Poyner & Charlene Mehlenbeck
This committee plans and organizes retreats and mini-retreats for members. They work closely with the Hospitality committee and the treasurer for collection of fees.

Sunshine: Syble Bailey
This committee sends cards or notes on behalf of the Guild to members to express sympathy, get well wishes, congratulations and happy birthday wishes. They also remind members to bring their birthday baskets to the meeting on their birthday month.

Welcome: Debbi Sutton
This committee welcomes all guests as they arrive for meetings and makes sure they feel welcomed by giving them a gift bag of goodies. They introduce the guest to other members, explaining all the exhibits/tables such as the free table, birthday baskets and monthly raffle. They formally introduce the guests to the membership at the beginning of the meeting and invite them to join as a member.
