In need of 5” sq fabrics in red, white and blue. Need 315 to make the specific quilt. If a member turns in 315 blocks (Janet will provide the guild a list of how may of each color), that member will receive a USA pin.

25 to date joined WIP program for 2026.
18 WIP’s have been completed to date.
Next WIP due is #2 and will be due by May SSQG meeting.
Explained how program works for new members.
 
Retreats (Cathy Poyner)
Last mini retreat had:

Next mini retreat will be at the end of May.
 
Around 20 members have signed up for next retreat in Covington.
 
Charlene Mehlenbeck reported that they have a few extra tshirts for sale: 3 L short, 1 each of XL and 2XL long. 
 
Fundraising (Karen Moore)
Quilt donated by Athena Hart – 5 blocks are done. Waiting on rest to complete.
 
WAHA will be in October. Athena Hart donated 6 tops that will be completed into quilts to sell.
 
Looking for longarm volunteers.
 
Reminded members to purchase raffle tickets for 50/50 and birthday baskets.
 
BOM (Becky Land)
Showed the March BOM. She will post of FB. Reminded everyone to use white for the background on all BOM’s.
 
Community Outreach (Anita Rodger)
3 4 Bee:
Has been extended to April meeting.
Received 44 quilts last from 18 members.
To date 88 quilts have been received.
Might do 3 4 Bee again in the Fall.
 
18 quilts were taken to Oak View Hall.
 
Next Community Outreach sew days are March 26-28. Will be working on quilts, pillowcases and tote bags. Tote bags are needed for the Child Advocacy Center.
 
Asked for fabric donations.
 
Reminded members to add an SSQG tag to made items (put on back). 
 
Suggested quilt size 36×35 or larger.
 
Hope Harbor visit planned for 3/20/26.
 
Can find easy tote bag patterns online. Suggested adding a toy, book, stuffed animal to the bag.  Clothing donations are also needed for children aged 4-17. 
 
Programs (Jill Rains)
Showed various 60 degree rulers made by Creative Grids.  Three different sizes, 8, 4 (her favorite size) and 3”. 
 
Discussed tips regarding bias cuts. 
 
Showed on screen Kristamoser.com and YouTube.com/@krista.moser. Mentioned the blog as very informative.
 
Shabby Fabrics, Fat Quarter Shop and Missouri Star all have patterns specifically for the 60 degree triangle.
