Upcoming QOV Sew Days:

At the last QOV Sew Days, 19 quilt kits were made.

There are six pillowcase kits in stock to sign out. More are needed.

Mentioned that today was the National QOV Sew Day. Encouraged members to look at their website. T-shirts are available to order for $35. February 28 is the deadline to order. Robyn can assist if needed.

Donation jars are now out during guild meetings to help raise funds for our QOV committee. These monies will help purchase things such as batting, etc, as this program has grown tremendously and our budget will not cover all expenses. Donations can also be made via our guild QR code with a notation in the description field stating “QOV donation”.

The QOV Committee consist of 16 members.

WIP
Sandy Burnett described the WIP program. Each participant will contribute five dollars per WIP. If the drawn number is completed by the participant by the deadline stated, they will receive their five dollars back. WIP’s do not have to be completed quilts, but can be sewing/sewing room tasks at various stages.

WIP # 5 will be due on March 7th.

All unclaimed monies for the year will be raffled off at the beginning of the following year. At this year’s January meeting, five lucky winners received $52 each.

Retreat
Cathy Poyner mentioned that today is the last day to order 2026 SSQG T-shirts. Must be prepaid.

The mini retreat on February 26-28 is for members only. Sign-up sheet is at the retreat table in the back. Asked attending members to be mindful of their sewing lamps as they can shine in others eyes if angled wrong. The hospitality committee will coordinate games and activities for this event. Members are asked to bring their own meals. Drink drinks will be provided.

Registration for the away retreat on May 13-17 in Covington, Georgia is available until April. It is now open to non-members to fill spaces.

Fundraising
Karen Moore needs 2 more seasoned quilters to assist with making blocks for the Asteria raffle quilt. Blocks will be due April 1 and then the quilt will be put together for the October raffle.

The WAHA quilt show in Waverly Hall will be October 17. If you would like to display one of your quilts, please let Karen Moore know.

We are continuing with our 50/50 raffle. Tickets can be purchased in the back. Last month our lucky winner was Shannon Hobbs who won $173.

Block of the Month
Becky Land showed the BOM for February (Sew with me / Block # 2). Beginning this month and going forward for 2026, our blocks of the month will come from Erica Made Designs. YouTube tutorials are available for each block. All blocks must consist of a white or white on white background.

Paducah, KY Quilt Show
Dana Brue from Thomaston, Georgia spoke to the guild about the upcoming Paducah quilt show trip. She is looking for additional attendees to complete a second bus. She gave details about the tripp and her contact information.

Program
Jill Raines introduced Charlene Mehlenbeck who presented the One Block Wonder quilt method to the guild. Introductory directions and multiple quilts were displayed with the opportunity for guild members to enroll in a class to be held at the end of next months guild meeting from 1-4pm. Cost for the class is $20 and members will need to bring their own lunch, in addition to needed supplies (Charlene will provide list). Additional class sessions will be scheduled if needed.

Break
Members had a 15 minute break to visit the sign-up and information tables, In addition to purchase additional raffle tickets.

Community outreach
Anita Rodger had the recipients of the Bee pin come up on the stage for a group picture. 52 total quilts were received. The 3 4 Bee program has been extended to the April guild meeting. If you turn in three community quilts, you will receive a pin.
